Privacy and Security Statement

Autogen Bioclear is committed to protecting your privacy. You may have questions regarding this and we have outlined below some answers to concerns that you may have.

Signing up: why do you want to know my name and e-mail address
When you sign up, our website collects your address and preferences so that we can respond to an order or catalogue request and provide you with the best possible service. This information is held on a cookie. The personal information collected is held securely in accordance with our internal security policy and UK law (Data Protection Act 1998).

What is a Cookie?
A tiny text file holding information about you, such as your address and preferences. We send it along with our Web pages to live on your hard disc. When you sign in we ask your browser to send us your cookie. That way, we can recognise you, fill out forms for you, accept orders from you and make the site look the way you like. No other site can read your cookie so your information stays private.

Some browsers may be configured to alert the user when a cookie is being sent, or to refuse to accept cookies. For on-line ordering, you do have to sign up and accept a cookie. If your browser is set to refuse cookies, then you will be unable to place an order via this method.

What about third-party cookies?
In the course of directing you to this website from an email that we sent you, our third-party email direct marketing provider may place a unique session cookie on your browser. A session cookie is a line of text that is stored temporarily on your browser. Because a session cookie is never written to a drive, it is destroyed as soon as you close your browser. Session cookies used by our third-party email direct marketing provider will also automatically expire after 60 minutes.

Do you use post click tracking tags?
We may send back information about your web site usage to our reputable third-party email direct marketing provider for the purpose of targeting our future email campaigns. To do this, we use clear GIF's, or pixel tags, on this site, which allow our provider to recognise a browser's session cookie when a browser visits this page. If you would like more information about our third-party email direct marketing provider, please contact us.

Can I Access and Change my Preferences?
Yes, you can edit your preferences at any time.

How do you make sure that nobody steals my credit card information?
All credit card numbers are encrypted in the software when the order is placed. Encryption is a technology that allows secure transmission of sensitive information via the internet. The sender encodes (scrambles) the data and the receiver decodes it using the correct decoder. There are two levels of encryption; we use the 128-bit level of encryption, which is the most secure. Your details are only decrypted after they reach our computer so that your credit card details remain safe.

You will notice when you reach the encryption process because screen messages will confirm a move to a secure server. The domain name will also start with https:// where the addition of the "s" denotes a secure URL. The certficate of our web hosting company confirms this.

Do you share or sell my information with other companies?
We do not make names or personal information available to other companies. We never pass on credit card details or telephone numbers to third parties.

How can I start or stop receiving e-mails from you?
By accessing your personal preferences and opting out.

Who can I talk to if I have a question about my privacy?
If you have any questions about security or would like to comment on your experience of using our site please contact us
